Men teach that a woman’s entire body is a part of the definition of nakedness — and thus, “for the sake of the Muslim Ummah and for her own good,” she should cover her entire body. Even her voice should not be beautified, lest it attract the poor, unsuspecting, pious male into entering sin. (source)
And this is why we need more public recitation, supplication and chanting by women. Because they are indeed, beautiful.
Hat tip to Hijabman for finding this awesome piece.

While I respect the person making such a statement, it must be pointed out that the temptation to sin by a male is laid at the feet of the female. That is, I believe, blaming a gender for the frailty of another gender. And it fails to put the responsibility for avoiding sin onto the proper source, the male. Sadly, I think it oppressive of women using a religious argument of dubious provenance to continue to oppress women.
Males need to take responsibility for themselves regardless of the state of the female. The logic here by the speaker is fuzzy at best. It represents a further put-down of women not sanctioned by anything the Prophet ever intended , in my humble opinion.
If women and men are not equal before Allah, then Allah’s representatives on earth have failed in their duty to represent the equality the Prophet taught.

I believe that is the point of the blog post. Yes?

I should have watched the Khalid Yaseen video BEFORE I watched the zikr video… I wouldn’t be feeling so violent cuz of his drivel right now. Let all women just go out dressed in their fridge in the future and get one of those contraptions Stephen Hawking uses to speak… argh

The 3 women on the right (in the circle) missed the memo that they were supposed to wear green.
My only (other) thought: did they know they were going to be on YouTube? This type of religious devotion (in the form of a song) as well as recitation of the Qur’an in your most beautiful voice are allowed by men and women (with some fine print, of course), but I’m wondering if these women intended their devotions for public consumption.

The poor unsuspecting pious male caught my eye. If indeed he really is pious no woman could seduce him away from following the order of his God.
Allah says in Quran 2:36 So, the devil caused them to slip from it, and he brought them out from what they were in, and We said: “Descend; for you are enemies to one another; and on the earth you will have residence and provisions until the appointed time.”
He says we are enemies to one another. We must realize this.
Men and women are enemies to one another.
Therefore, we will always find the way to put the blame on each other.
